Video Tips
1.) Have meaningful content in your video. Movies are more fun than lectures, but kids still won't listen unless the content is meaningful.
2.) Movies are a great way of showing your students how to do something. They can give step-by-step instruction as well as a visual.
3.) Make your video interesting with sound and effects, but don't go overboard. Make sure your effects make sense. Why add an "old-movie effect" on an instructional video on how to do Powerpoint?
4.) Save copies of your movie under new names. Movies take a lot of time and effort. If you aren't careful and save over your movie then you won't be able to undo your mistakes and will have to do the whole thing over.
5.) Keep the original copies of audio and video used for your movie. Just in case!

Blogging Tips
Here are some tips for teachers who want to use blogs in the classroom.
* Teachers need to keep a close eye on their students when they are creating blogs in the classroom. There is so much stuff on the internet that teachers need to make sure their students don't get into trouble.
* Blogs are good for students when they check other's blogs to learn more about the material being taught.
*When you have students creating blogs have a purpose for them and make sure they follow the rubric. For example, if you want spelling and grammar to be important in their posts, monitor that.
* Have a set of rules and consequences so that when students are working on their blog they know now to get on email, facebook, etc.

So much going on!
We all know with the advanced technology, it is hard to get students to follow along with the lesson being taught. Students have phones and computers with internet where there is so much going on! Students can check their email and Facebook instead of listening to the teacher. They can even shop online! How can teachers implement technology in their classroom and still make sure the students are doing the lesson?
